Myths about Lip Fillers
There a lot of us who feel unhappy or slightly self-conscious about areas of our body, especially when it comes to your face as this is the hardest area to hide!
Lip Fillers have become increasingly popular through this Teenies era (2011-2019) with many of us wanting those lovely luscious lips or a just a bit of definition. But when you decide to pitch the idea to friends and family, you get that unwelcomed wince as they suddenly picture Kylie Jenner or those Instagram “duck” lips and think that this is the only way…
Here at Zenith, we only offer services with fully trained, expert medical professionals who use genuine products and expert techniques to give you the lips that you always wanted (if that’s a subtle enhancement or a fuller but natural pout) our doctors will listen and ensure you get what you want in the safest way possible!
We decided to tackle some of the Lip Filler rumours that circle the internet and our favourite social media sites, to give you some real honest and accurate answers:
1. They will look really fake and obvious
Firstly, find yourself a doctor or clinician that really listens to your wants and needs, and who has the time to hear your concerns. The first red flag would be them just wanting you in-and-out on the lip filler train, with no regard for your thoughts, and leaving with a style you never wanted.
If a doctor uses too much filler, it produces a less-than-natural aesthetic and shape. Start off small and slow and give your body time to welcome new filler. You will still notice the difference and end up with some subtle changes that will make a big difference, while still appearing natural!
2. If my lips turn out bad, there’s nothing I can do to fix it
If your Doctor or Clinician uses a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler (such as Juvederm that we use here at Zenith) the results will look really natural and the doctor can inject an eraser enzyme if you are unhappy to immediately dissolve the filler.
3. Lip Fillers are really painful
Not necessarily… At Zenith we offer a numbing cream which would be applied 30 minutes before the procedure, allowing it time to get working, to ensure your treatment is practically pain-free! If you are concerned about any pain, check with your doctor or clinician to see if they offer pain relief beforehand.
4. My lips won’t feel like my lips anymore
By using a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler like Juvederm, it will ensure that you lips look and feel natural to wear and to touch. HA is produced naturally by our own skin cells to maintain moisture levels, so this natural ingredient won’t feel uncomfortable or heavy in your body.
5. I’ll be going back every few months for top-ups and it will cost loads
This does depend on the individual and how quickly your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid, however your fillers should last between 6 months - 1 year! The cost of Lip Fillers with Zenith is £199, so even if your fillers last the shortest amount of time, it’s only really costing £33.00 per month – which is considerably cheaper than the average phone bill!
Lip fillers are an ever-growing popular treatment and we just want to ensure that if you’re going to get them done – get them done safely!
Here at Zenith, the patient comes first and your safety and well-being is our highest priority. If you have any questions that may not have been covered in this article, do feel free to contact us or book in for a consultation with one of our experienced doctors.
