It was first discovered in the late 1960’s that Hi-Frequency electricity can vaporize skin by vibrating the water within the cells.
What is Radiosurgical mole removal?
The beauty of this technique is that there is no heat passed into the skin tissue, which is much better for healing, unlike laser devices that use heat to burn the mole away.
To ensure maximum comfort for the patient, local anaesthetic is injected under the mole to numb the area before treatment begins. A small sample piece can be taken to send to a lab using the, if requested, then the rest is shaved down to your skin’s natural level. A dressing is then applied, and the patient is instructed with and given the Doctor’s personal telephone number to contact if there are any queries.
For the vast majority of moles that we see, we feel that this is by far the best method and gives the best healing of any method but is by far the most difficult to perform and execute perfectly.

FAQs
Can I get radiosurgery mole removal on finance?
If the cost of your treatment plan is priced over £2,500 finance options are available but we do not offer finance for treatments below this amount.
What are the side effects or risks of laser mole removal for men?
As with any procedure, there are potential risks and side effects. Our senior Doctor, Dr Maini, is highly experienced and will talk you through any side effects and make sure you feel comfortable before the removal.
- Minor swelling
- Redness
- Bruising
- Tenderness
- In some mole removal cases scarring
Is radiosurgery mole removal suitable for everyone?
This procedure is ideal for any raised lesion on the skin-especially the face, due to the superior healing it offers. In general, most moles are good candidates for removal, although if you have any suspicious moles they may need to be removed by a dermatologist. We recommend booking in for a consultation with Dr Maini and then he can advise you on whether removing a mole is the best option for you.
Can I remove my mole myself?
No, we would not advise that anyone attempts to remove a mole, wart or lesion without seeking help from a professional. We have unfortunately seen many nasty scars caused by people who have attempted mole removal at home.
My mole is changing. What should I do?
Make an appointment to see your GP as soon as possible. They will make an assessment and potentially refer you to a hospital. We advise not to remove a mole yourself, only by an NHS Consultant Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon.
Does it hurt to remove moles?
We will inject some local anaesthetic beneath the mole to ensure the remainder of the procedure is as pain-free as possible. Laser mole removal is described as feeling the flick of an elastic band but because you will be numbed in the area, you shouldn’t feel much pain at all.
How long does it take to heal after a radiosurgery mole removal procedure?
In most cases, we would remove the dressing after 2 days when the mole is then allowed to dry and scab. Most scabs will naturally fall off in 2-4 weeks, leaving a pink or red mark that will then fade and disappear over the course of 12 months.
Will my mole grow back after removal?
We haver a less than 1% recurrence rate as our doctor is extremely experienced and takes care to ensure the entire mole is removed. Just in case, you will receive free retreats for 2 years after your treatment.
