Excess Thigh Fat
Excess thigh fat is something which a lot of people can be quite self-conscious about. It is completely normal to have body fat.
We normally distribute our body fat evenly however for some people body fat can build up in certain areas more than others, for example the thighs.
There are different types of fat cells that build up
Subcutaneous Fat- Most common in thighs and located right beneath the skin
Intramuscular Fat- Fat dispersed in the muscle itself
The main cause for excess thigh fat is to do with diet. Meaning that you take in more than you burn off or use throughout the day.
Where your body stores fat is dependent on a number of different factors including:
- Hereditary- Does it run in the family
- Gender- Each gender tends to carry fat in different places
At Zenith we offer three treatments to treat this condition.
What is BodyTite™?
BodyTite™ is the most advanced, permanent method of removing fat and tightening the skin simultaneously. This incredible treatment uses Radiofrequency skin tightening technology to dramatically improve the contours of the body, in the least invasive way possible. BodyTite™ can reduce amounts of fat similar to traditional Liposuction, but BodyTite™ is a much gentler option.
What is Liposuction?
Liposuction is an extremely popular and largely talked about surgical procedure that involves simply sucking the fat out of the body.
What is Cristal Fat Freezing?
Fat Freezing is a method that involves controlled cooling of the fat cells until they crystallise and then the fat cells themselves actually die, without damaging any of the surrounding issues.

Does thigh fat go away?
Thigh fat can only go down if you lose your overall body fat. This means that you need to lose your overall body fat mass for your thighs to then go down in size. You can’t target a particular body part to reduce fat organically.
Does walking reduce thigh fat?
Walking is a form of exercise that can help with reducing excess fat. Walking would be perfect if you want to help tone your legs
Is treatment on the thighs painful?
Not at all. Whether you go down the surgical route or non-surgical route our treatments are performed in a way which ensures the patient experiences little to no pain.
Am I a suitable candidate for BodyTite™?
If you have localised pockets of fat in your thighs, arms, legs, belly, back or neck, then yes you are suitable for this procedure. If you have lost a lot of weight and have loose or excess skin, we can treat most of these cases with BodyTite™ or a combination of BodyTite™ and surgery.
How is Bodytite™ different from liposuction?
BodyTite™ is different to laser liposuction and traditional liposuction as it is less invasive, melts fat cells, tightens skin, little to no scarring, suitable for different types of patients and can be used on a variety of areas such as, stomach, legs, arms, back and is even suitable for the neck using NeckTite™.
How much weight will I lose with Liposuction?
Liposuction, and any form of Fat Removal, is not designed to help you lose weight, but you will lose inches due to the fat being physically removed. Weight loss is a completely separate topic that needs careful discussion with the Doctor, which is something we can offer during your consultation if you are interested in this also.
Does it Hurt?
No! Fat Freezing with the Cristal machine does not hurt.
What Are the Side Effects of Fat Freezing?
Minimal, generally a little bruising, tingling, swelling is common, most patients will return immediately back to work after treatment.
How do I know which treatment to have to help with excess thigh fat?
If you are unsure about what treatment is best for you we advise for you to have an initial consultation with our senior doctor, Dr Maini, who will be able to advise you with what treatment option is most suitable for you to give you the best results.
