Wide Jaw
A wide masculine jaw is helpful in keeping the skin under the chin taught but can be an undesirable trait as it leads to the appearance of a square face shape.
There are methods that can be used to thin the appearance of a wide jaw to make it more feminine or widen it to make it more masculine.
Widen the Appearance of the Jaw
This can be achieved by using techniques from the 8 point lift that give a more masculine defined jawline.
Narrow the Appearance of the Jaw
This can be achieved in 2 ways – either by reducing the width of the masseter muscles if these are excessively large. Alternatively, or in addition, the front of the face can be filled out in a manner to make the projection appear slimmer. This creates the illusion of a slimmer more feminine jaw.
