What types of skin lesions can be removed?

We treat a variety of benign skin lesions, including moles, cysts, skin tags, and seborrhoeic keratoses. Each case is individually assessed to ensure safe and suitable treatment.

Is the procedure painful?

Most lesion removal procedures are performed under local anaesthetic, so discomfort is minimal. You may feel a brief sting from the injection, but the procedure itself is typically pain-free.

Will I have a scar afterwards?

Some scarring is possible, depending on the size, depth, and location of the lesion. We use techniques aimed at minimising scarring and provide aftercare guidance to support optimal healing.

How long is the recovery time?

Recovery is usually quick. Most people can resume normal activities immediately. Healing typically takes 1–2 weeks, depending on the lesion and treatment method used.

Do I need a referral for treatment?

No referral is needed for cosmetic skin lesion removal. We will assess the lesion to ensure it is benign before proceeding. Any suspicious lesions may be referred for further investigation.

Pre-Treatment

Before treatment, we conduct a clinical assessment to confirm the lesion is benign. You’ll receive clear information about the procedure, potential risks, and aftercare so you can make an informed decision.

Treatment

The lesion is removed using the most appropriate method for its type and location - this may include excision, cryotherapy, or cautery. Local anaesthetic is used to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.

Post-Treatment

We’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions to support healing and minimise the risk of infection or scarring. Follow-up appointments may be recommended depending on the lesion and treatment method.

Sides Effects & Risks

Possible side effects include redness, mild swelling, scabbing, or temporary discomfort. There is a small risk of infection or scarring. All risks will be discussed with you ahead of treatment.
