Take a look at the information below to see what’s involved as part of the dental implants process, the dental implants cost and how we can help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted!
Dental implants are now commonly used methods of replacing missing teeth within your smile. A titanium post, or screw, is surgically positioned into the jawbone (just like a tooth root) to mount replacement teeth or a bridge into that area. As well as replacing missing teeth, dental implants can be used to support crowns or dentures, in a similar way to the way that roots support natural teeth.Book a Consultation
Dental implants are suitable for most adults who have good general health. We only offer this procedure to those over the age of 18 because we surgically position the root into the jawbone, so we need to be sure this has stopped growing.
If you’re a heavy drinker or smoker there may also be a higher risk around dental implants, particularly regarding the healing process. However, suitability for dental implants is assessed on a case by case basis. The best course of action is to book a consultation at the clinic so we can discuss this further.Find out more

Dental implants are a permanent solution for missing teeth, and no one will even be able to tell that you have them. Our award-winning dentist Dr Chani, will work with you to make sure your teeth are crafted to look, feel and function just like your natural teeth - matching them in size, colour, contour and shape.Book a consultation
You will firstly have a full consultation with your dentist to assess your needs and to decide how many implants are necessary for you. We will review your medical history, take an x-ray of your mouth and a mould impression of your mouth will be made. This is to ensure your dental implants fit you perfectly, and we can help you achieve your best treatment outcome. It is also possible that a scan of your jawbone is necessary to assess if you have enough jawbone to hold the implant, but your experienced dentist can advise on this if necessary.
Once your tooth implants are ready, they can be placed into your mouth. This will be done in a minor surgical procedure, under sterile conditions and if required, sedation alongside local anaesthetic can be administered. The titanium implant is placed into your jawbone and overtime will fuse to the bone itself. This ensures complete fixture to the mouth, making dental implants exceptionally durable.
This process involves fusing the implant to the bone can take between 6 weeks and 6 months, it’s entirely patient specific. If necessary, dentures or bridgework can be worn to ensure optimum results.
Once your crown is fitted and colour-matched to your teeth, you can smile with confidence again. Using a porcelain crown, the natural looking teeth will be constructed by a dental technician working closely with the dental surgeon. This assures that the new tooth is a perfect match to the existing teeth if a full set is not required.Get in touch
Like any surgery that you go through, dental implants do come with some risks. Whilst these are rare, it’s important to be aware of them. Luckily, most risks can be easily treated.
• Risk of infection
• Injury or damage to surrounding structures
• Nerve damage in teeth, gums or lips
• Potential sinus problems (if one of the dental implants accidentally protrudes into sinus cavities)

There’s no need to worry about the pain associated with the procedure, we use local anaesthetic for the placement of all dental implants, so your treatment will be comfortable as possible for you.
Dental implants are suited to most patients, however, some patients may require a little more preparation for the procedure than others. As mentioned above, we don’t perform this procedure on anyone under the age of 18, and there may be further factors to consider if you’re a heavy smoker or drinker. It’s best to arrange your free consultation in Nottingham to discuss your individual needs, concerns, and potential treatment options for you.
One of the key benefits of dental implants is their durability, and if they are looked after well, they should last you the rest of your life.
You might be wondering why you should replace a missing tooth if it isn’t causing you any current problems. However, replacing a missing tooth can help you to avoid future complications surrounding your dental/oral health. Dental implants can help to provide support for surrounding teeth, and also reduce the risk of contracting gum disease in that area.
Definitely not! Treat your implants with just as much care as you would your natural teeth. We recommend you brush your teeth twice daily, floss and regularly attend your dentist to maintain the health of your teeth.
The crown (or visible part of the tooth) is made of porcelain, and the root is made of titanium.
